I shot these images of empty chairs at empty tables around the Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, a couple of weeks ago, planned to post them and then quite forgot to do so.
I post them now in a moment of reflection, to remember all those who have lost loved ones in Brussels this week, and for so many others, in so many places in the world, who have lost their lives as victims of senseless violence.
United we stand.

These shots were taken in the Mercado Central, just off the Plaza Mayor, as the market was closing. The stalls, that sell fresh meat, seafood, and vegetables were being cleaned and hosed down. As luck had it, our hosts seemed to know most of those working on the various stalls, including La Montanera.
Copious amounts of vino tinto were imbibed as Dionisio demonstrated his exemplary carving skills.
I can vouch for the fact that the jamon he sliced was delicious. As was the vino tinto…
